I originally started seeing Chris because of a shoulder injury. She helped me tremendously with the soft tissue recovery of that shoulder, as well as keeping my body symmetrical as I really favored one side over the another. That being said, I kept going to Chris because of the overall health she brought to my whole body. Her awareness of body issues, her deep understanding of anatomy and her great technique was addictive.

Based on my first experience of receiving services from massage practitioners in three different eastern states, over a 10 year period, Chris is one of the best therapists I have ever engaged. She has top-quality skill and hard-to-find characteristics in a massage therapist.
My top reasons for going to Chris included:
1. Chris provides client-oriented service. The bodywork is done “your way” with your comfort and improvement in mind. This includes the level of pressure, style of technique, position on the table, temperature in the room, even the background music. Many practitioners have only one way – their way – and Chris’ approach is refreshing and comforting.
2. Chris has an uncanny ability to “find” problem places. She has some sort of homing capability to locate sources of muscle tension and discomfort. This is a combination of excellent knowledge of physiology and a true gift of “muscle empathy” – I do not know what else to call it!
3. Chris uses multiple approaches to alleviate the tension in those problem places until it is worked out – including a combination of massage, pressure point work and stretches as needed. You can be confident that everything that can be done will be done, to achieve the session goals.
4. Chris always asks about your current state of mind and body. She looks at what was going on last session, in order to focus on (1) what’s needed that day and (2) staying in the context of the bigger picture. There is a game plan in mind, whether it is one of healing for an acute condition or maintenance for long-term health. I appreciate that she keeps track of this and that I am more than just an appointment on her calendar.
If you work with Chris, you’ll quickly find that she provides good result and tremendous value to clients. I have been very pleased with the bodywork to date and continue to go to her for those reasons.

I have been impressed with your professionalism and knowledge from my very first visit. You begin each session by asking specifically what my concerns are and checking in on any previous concerns, all in an environment that feels safe and positive. Your knowledge of the human body is comprehensive and you are always willing to answer questions about what you are doing and how the technique works in language that makes sense to me. I leave each session feeling as though you have addressed my aches and pains through a variety of techniques, and also having learned a great deal about how my body works. I look forward to each visit.

Chris is easily one of
the best massage therapists I’ve ever been to. She has a thorough
approach, taking time to talk with you before your massage about what
your current issues may be, etc. I have mostly gone to her for deep
tissue massage -- and she is no whimp! (She does the kinder, gentler
kind too.) She seems to know a lot about the mechanics of the body,
and I think this comes through in the massage. She has helped me with
both chronic and shorter-term pain / soreness, as well as just
relaxation. Chris is very professional... and she really has the touch.
